Old School Theatre presents You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, which will open at the Spring Hill Arts Center on Thursday, Oct. 8. Directed by Anne Bomar, the play is a 1999 revival of the original musical, produced in 1967, and based on the Charles Schulz comic series. The audience will have a look into an average day in the life of Charlie Brown, comprised of many of the moments made famous by the comic strip, such as consulting with "Doctor" Lucy, trying to fly a kite, Valentine's Day, and the final game of the baseball season. The cast will be headed up by Justin Holderman, of Providence Pines Academy, playing the title role of Charlie Brown. Three students from Independence High School will have roles in the musical. Sam Emery plays the philosophical Linus. Gavin Blackhurst portrays talented pianist Schroeder, and Morgan Alyssa Oliver takes on the role of the loveable fuss-budget, Lucy. Also joining the cast are Emily Palmer, playing Charlie's younger sister, Sally Brown, and Old School Theatre volunteer Sandra Wincel, taking to the stage as the world's most loveable beagle, Snoopy. Shows will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 8, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24. There will also be a 2 p.m. matinee on Oct. 17. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors and will be available online by going to click here for tickets and at the door. |
